FAQ

What can I store with the GEAR-RACK?

The GEAR-RACK is a modular wall mount for your bike accessories. Depending on the configuration you choose, you can store, for example, a helmet, cycling glasses, gloves, cycling shoes, bike computers and empty water bottles. For smaller items, there is a box and a hook.

You can choose a ready-made set or put together your own setup. Which modules are included depends on the variant you select. The GEAR-RACK is intended for accessories; your bike itself needs a separate bike mount.

How many elements fit on a wooden stick?

That depends on which modules you combine and how much space your accessories need. A helmet, for example, needs more room than cycling glasses. There is therefore no fixed number of modules that applies to every combination.

Use our variant images as a guide and allow for the space needed by the items you want to store. For larger combinations, the 100 cm wooden stick offers more room than the 60 cm version. The load limits apply regardless of the number of modules.

Can I freely choose the positions of the modules?

Yes. The modules can be positioned along the wooden stick, so you can adjust the spacing to your gear. Allow enough space so that you can comfortably put in and take out your items.

In the current version, the modules are slid on from above and secured with O-rings. The O-rings are still needed.

How do I add or swap modules? Do I need tools?

Changing modules works without tools. First take your accessories off the GEAR-RACK. Then pull the wooden stick up and out of the wall mount.

Now you can pull modules off the top of the stick or slide new modules on from above. Move them to the desired position and secure them with the O-rings. Then put the wooden stick back into the wall mount.

You do not have to unscrew the wall mount for this.

How much weight can I put on the GEAR-RACK?

The maximum permissible total load is 4 kg. In addition, the following maximum loads apply to the individual modules:

Module

Maximum load

Box: 150 g

Hook: 800 g

Helmet holder: 300 g

Glasses holder: 50 g

Glove holder: 50 g

Water bottle holder: 150 g per bottle, empty only

Computer holder: 130 g

Shoe holder: 600 g for both shoes together

Both limits must be observed: the maximum load of the respective module and the total load of 4 kg. The total load therefore does not, for example, allow you to load the helmet holder with more than 300 g.

For heavier items of equipment, check the actual weight before use. The wall and the anchor must also be suitable for the load.

May I use filled water bottles?

No. Water bottles may only be placed on the GEAR-RACK when empty. The maximum load is 150 g per bottle.

Check the weight even with empty bottles: heavy metal or insulated bottles can exceed the permissible load even without contents.

What materials is the GEAR-RACK made of?

The wooden stick is made of solid oak. We make the modules in-house by 3D printing from PLA. The woodworking is also done in our own production.

We deliberately use PLA for environmental reasons. In the current version, the modules are slid onto the wooden stick from above.

Can I use the GEAR-RACK in the garage or outdoors?

The GEAR-RACK is intended for dry indoor spaces up to 33 °C. A garage is therefore only an option if these conditions are met.

It is not intended for outdoor use or for damp or warmer locations. When choosing a location, also consider direct sunlight and heat sources that could heat the rack more.
