FAQ

What do I need the D-STRAP for?

When a bike is hung on the wall, the front wheel can twist sideways. If the tire touches the wall in the process, black marks can appear.

The D-STRAP connects the front wheel to the down tube and limits this movement. It complements your bike wall mount; the bike's weight is still carried by the mount.

How do I attach the D-STRAP?

Guide the strap around the front wheel and the down tube and close the hook-and-loop fastener. Adjust it so that the front wheel cannot turn toward the wall.

Take care not to pinch any external cables or wires. To take the bike off, open the hook-and-loop fastener.

Which size do I need?

Size M offers a closed circumference of 18–38 cm, size L of 38–60 cm.

Use a flexible tape measure to measure the intended path around the front wheel and down tube. What matters is this combined circumference, not just the tire width or the diameter of the down tube.

Do I need the D-STRAP with every PARAX wall mount?

It makes sense if the front wheel of your hung bike can turn toward the wall. Whether you need it depends on your mount, your bike and the distance to the wall.

With the U-RACK, the front wheel is already stabilized by the design. An additional D-STRAP is not required there.

Does the D-STRAP also protect the wall from a dirty tire?

The D-STRAP prevents the front wheel from twisting. It is not a cover for the tire. So when hanging and removing the bike, continue to make sure a dirty tire does not touch the wall.

Can I just order size L to be on the safe side?

We don't recommend this, as there may not be enough tension if the leather strap is significantly too long. So in any case, read and follow our Fitting Guide before placing your order.
