FAQ
Which size do I need for my bike?
What matters is the width of your handlebar. Size M is suitable for handlebars up to 50 cm, size L for handlebars up to 70 cm.
Measure the entire outer width of the handlebar at its widest point. On road bike handlebars, this can be the drops flaring outward. Also take into account add-on parts if they increase the required distance from the wall.
Also check the frame shape and the bike weight. Our dimension drawing helps you choose the right size.
Which top tubes fit on the S-RACK?
The cutout of the frame rest is 55 mm wide. However, this is not a blanket limit for the top tube diameter: wider top tubes can also fit, depending on their shape and their width-to-height ratio.
As a rule of thumb for aero top tubes: if the top tube is narrower than 55 mm or taller than it is wide, the shape is generally not an issue. For particularly wide and flat profiles, you should check the fit using our drawing.
Angular top tubes are also an option. What matters is that the frame rests securely. If you are unsure, send us a photo and the dimensions of your top tube at support@parax.de.
Is the S-RACK suitable for carbon frames?
Yes, carbon frames are generally suitable. The felt pad protects the contact surfaces between frame and mount.
As with other frame materials, frame shape, handlebar width and weight must be compatible with the S-RACK. Make sure the frame rests cleanly and that no external cables or protruding parts get pinched.
Can I hang a mountain bike or e-bike?
Yes, as long as your bike meets the requirements for handlebar width, frame shape and weight. The label “mountain bike” or “e-bike” alone does not determine suitability.
The maximum handlebar width for size L is 70 cm. The bike and items on the shelf together may weigh no more than 20 kg. Especially with e-bikes, you should therefore check the actual weight.
How much weight can the mount, shelf and hooks hold?
The bike and the contents of the shelf may weigh a maximum of 20 kg together. If your bike weighs 17 kg, for example, up to 3 kg remain for items on the shelf.
The optional accessory hooks may additionally be loaded with a total of 5 kg. This limit applies to all three hooks together, not to each hook individually.
This makes up to 25 kg possible in total, split into a maximum of 20 kg for the bike and shelf contents and a maximum of 5 kg for the hooks. The wall and the anchor must be suitable for the entire load.
Can I mount the S-RACK on a plasterboard wall?
That depends on the load-bearing capacity of your wall and the anchor you choose. A plasterboard wall is not automatically unsuitable; however, its suitability must be checked before mounting.
For suitable hollow walls, metal cavity anchors that fix behind the board are an option, for example. Which fastening fits depends, among other things, on the wall construction and the board thickness. Only use the supplied wall plugs if they are suitable for your wall.
The permissible load of the S-RACK does not replace checking the wall and fastening.
How does mounting with the drilling template work?
The S-RACK comes with a drilling template with a pendulum. It makes it easier to align and transfer the drilling positions to the wall.
First choose the height you want and check that there is enough space for your bike. Align the template as described in the mounting instructions, mark the drilling positions and use a fastening suitable for your wall.
Can I expand the S-RACK later or reorder parts?
Yes. With separately available accessory hooks, you can create additional space below the shelf.
You can also buy insert boards or bodies individually from us. Look under Accessories for the corresponding items. This way you can replace parts or change the look of your S-RACK.
