FAQ
What makes the L-RACK special?
The L-RACK remains part of your interior even without a bike. You can fold up the empty mount and use its magnetic surface for postcards or pictures.
This is especially handy in shared living spaces: when the bike is out, the mount sticks out less into the room. The depth reduces from 31.5 cm to 8.5 cm.
Which bikes is the L-RACK suitable for?
The L-RACK is suitable for bikes whose top tube rests securely on the mount. Your bike may weigh a maximum of 20 kg, the handlebar may be no wider than 62 cm and the top tube no thicker than 60 mm. Check the frame shape using our dimension drawing.
What do I need to measure before buying?
Check the entire outer width of your handlebar, the top tube diameter and the bike weight. For flared road bike handlebars, the widest point counts.
Also compare the frame shape with our dimension drawing. The top tube must be able to rest securely; external cables or protruding parts must not be pinched.
Is the L-RACK suitable for carbon frames?
Yes, carbon frames are generally suitable. The felt pad protects the frame at the contact points.
With carbon too, frame shape, top tube diameter, handlebar width and weight must be compatible with the mount. Make sure it rests securely with no pinched cables.
How does folding work?
First take your bike off the mount. You can then fold up the L-RACK. When folded, its depth is 8.5 cm instead of 31.5 cm.
To hang your bike, fold the mount out completely. Follow the steps in our mounting instructions.
How do I use the magnetic surface?
You can attach postcards or pictures to the surface with suitable magnets. This lets you personalize the folded L-RACK.
How much weight can the L-RACK hold?
The maximum load is 20 kg. This requires a wall with sufficient load-bearing capacity and a suitable anchor.
If you also place accessories on the mount, their weight counts toward the total load.
What makes mounting easier?
The L-RACK comes with a drilling template with a pendulum. It helps you mark the drilling positions and align the mount.
Screws, wall plugs and a bit are also included. Before mounting, check whether the supplied wall plugs suit your wall.
Can I mount the L-RACK on a plasterboard wall?
That depends on the wall construction and the anchor. Both must be able to safely handle the weight and the forces involved. For suitable hollow walls, appropriate metal cavity anchors are an option, for example.
For plasterboard walls, the U-RACK is particularly well suited within our range, as its design creates a lower pull-out load on the anchors.
