FAQs
Which size do I need for my bike?
Size M is suitable for handlebars up to 50 cm wide, size L for handlebars up to 70 cm.
Measure the entire outer width at the widest point of your handlebar. On road bike handlebars, this can be the drops flaring outward. Also take into account add-on parts that need extra distance from the wall.
Also check whether the frame shape fits the rest and your bike weighs no more than 20 kg.
Which top tubes fit on the T-RACK?
The cutout of the frame rest is 65 mm wide. This is not a blanket limit for the top tube diameter: wider top tubes can also fit, depending on their shape and the width-to-height ratio.
As a rule of thumb for aero top tubes: if the top tube is narrower than 65 mm or taller than it is wide, the shape is generally not an issue. You should check particularly wide and flat profiles using our dimension drawing.
Angular top tubes can also be suitable. What matters is that the frame rests securely. If you are unsure, send us a photo and the dimensions of your top tube at support@parax.de.
Is the T-RACK suitable for carbon frames?
Yes, carbon frames are generally suitable. The felt pad protects the contact surfaces between frame and mount.
Frame shape, handlebar width and bike weight must be compatible with the T-RACK. Also make sure no cables or protruding parts get pinched between the frame and the rest.
Can I hang a mountain bike or e-bike?
Yes, as long as frame shape, handlebar width and weight fit. The T-RACK carries bikes up to 20 kg; the larger size L is suitable for handlebars up to 70 cm.
With mountain bikes in particular, you should check the actual handlebar width. With e-bikes, weight is often the deciding factor. The bike category alone therefore doesn't tell you whether your bike is suitable.
What is the difference between the T-RACK and the S-RACK?
The T-RACK is the purist: a minimalist steel body with a felt pad, without an additional wooden shelf.
The S-RACK offers a wooden shelf, different color and wood combinations and can be expanded with accessory hooks. It is especially suitable if you want to adapt the mount to your interior.
The S-RACK comes with a drilling template with a pendulum. The T-RACK is supplied with a mounting template without a pendulum.
How do I mount the T-RACK?
First check the wall construction and choose a fastening suitable for the load. The supplied wall plugs may only be used if they suit your wall.
Transfer the drilling positions with the included mounting template as described in the mounting instructions. Since it has no pendulum, you additionally need a spirit level for alignment.
Choose the mounting position so that your bike has sufficient distance from the floor, furniture and other objects.
Can I mount the T-RACK on a plasterboard wall?
That depends on the load-bearing capacity of your wall and the anchor you choose. Suitability must be checked before mounting.
For suitable hollow walls, appropriate metal cavity anchors that fix behind the board are an option, for example. Observe the manufacturer's specifications on load-bearing capacity and the required wall construction.
If you are specifically looking for a mount for plasterboard, the U-RACK is the better choice within our range: its design creates a lower pull-out load on the anchors. There too, the wall and anchor must be checked.
Is the bike mount also suitable for outdoor use?
The T-RACK mount is designed for indoor storage of your bike, but it can also be used outdoors as long as it is not exposed to direct rain.
